Aquaculture Technician

We are looking for a aquaculture Technician to join the team at Balfron.  The role is responsible for day-to-day prawn husbandry; including feeding, water sampling, animal health observations and sampling, data collection, record-keeping and maintaining a biosecure/clean environment at all times.  

The suitable candidate would be practical, highly self-motivated & dependable.  You must be able to work effectively within a team and able to perform tasks on-time.  Hands-on experience in aquaculture, aquarium, fisheries or agro-industry experience is preferred but not essential.  All necessary training will be provided upon joining the company

Hatchery Manager

GBP is looking for a Hatchery Manager to join the company as soon as possible in Scotland.  The individual requires at least 10 years combined experience in management of P. vannamei maturation and larval rearing. Experience in the management of breeding centres is sought, but not essential. Financial Controller

Great British Prawns Ltd (GBP) is a ground-breaking King prawn farming company based in the UK. We operate state-of-the-art, indoor, land-based prawn farming facilities in Scotland using Recirculation Aquaculture Systems (RAS) technology. With plans for UK expansion and funding secured, the company is looking for an in-house lead for all financial and management accounting. 

The position requires a Graduate calibre, qualified Accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA) who is highly systems literate and process orientated able to identify and implement improvements. Strong and effective communication at all levels is essential. Passion, energy and drive to improve business and financial performance, including demonstrable experience managing the finance function. Previous / recent experience in commercial aquaculture in the UK is preferred but not essential. 

In a fast moving and entrepreneurial business, the role demands the ability to react quickly as requirements change but must also ensure improvements are planned and implemented across departments where necessary.
